This apartment was conceived and renovated by an architect. It is on the 4th floor (no elevator) of a 17th century building on the 'Isle Saint Louis' named after the French King Louis who spent many years of his reign on the crusades. Amongst many other things, he is also famous for having built the Sainte Chapelle on Ile de la Cite, nearby, to house the crown of thorns of Jesus. you can still visit this beautiful example of gothic architecture with its incredible stained-glass windows, but the crown is no longer there.

This apartment is ideally situated in the heart of the historical centre of Paris: Ile Saint Louis is an island on the Seine, so, left and right banks of the river are equal distance. Whether you would like to visit Notre Dame de Paris, or the Pompidou Centre, Saint Germain des Pres or the Louvre, you really don't have far to go and the island itself, with its beautiful mansions built for the nobility in the 17th century, is simply magnificent.

This is a one bedroom, 43 sq. meter (463 sq. ft) apartment with bleached wood parquet floors. The living room windows are south-facing with sunlight for most of the day all year round and a beautiful view over the "eglise Saint Louis en l'isle" on the other side of the street; a wonderful example of Baroque 18th century architecture With its unique steeple and beautiful interiors.

The flats main entrance gives directly on to the living room, kitchen and dining area, with a pull-out sofa bed, equipped with a very thick quality mattress, where two guests can sleep. There are two armchairs and a coffee table. The kitchen is well equipped with a vitroceramic cooker with two burners, an oven and a microwave. There is also a refrigerator with ice compartment and everything you need to make a basic meal. Next to the kitchen area is a dining table with seating for four.

From the living room you can walk through a little side room to the bedroom with a comfortable double bed (140cm * 190cm), plenty of storage space, a washing machine in the large cupboard and an ensuite tiled bathroom with shower and sink. The toilet is ideally situated next to the side room, between the bedroom and the living room.

The apartment is equipped with a television in the living room with cable television, there is a free high-speed internet connection and you can phone landlines in 97 countries around the world for free.
