This charming two bedroom rental apartment is situated on the rue de Rivoli, right opposite the Louvre, the former residence of the kings of France, transformed now into the largest museum in the world. You will be ideally situated a couple of minutes walk to the river Seine, the Palais Royal, the Tuileries gardens and the beautiful Place de la Concorde at the base of the Champs Elysees.
The apartment gives on to the courtyard of an early 19th century building, on the 3 rd French floor (no elevator), so that, even though it is on a main street, it is very calm. It is a four room apartment measuring 63 sq. meters or 678 sq. feet, with two separate entrances on either end of the apartment, ideal for a family with grown up children, or two couples who would like a little independance.
There is a small dining room/entrance, living room and two bedrooms; one with a classical Louis XV style bed and the other, which can serve as an independant studio, with a very good quality sofa bed with a thick mattress. There is one kitchen next to the dining room and a small kitchenette behind mirrored doors on the other side of the apartment in the end room. Both kitchens have electric cookers with two hubs and mini-ovens and washing machin/dryer combos. There are two bathrooms, one with a sink and bath and the other with a large shower, sink and toilet. There is also a separate toilet near the entrance. It has been decorated very tastefully with antiques, objects and artwork in the style of the French boudoirs of the 18th and 19th centuries, floors are wood parquet, in a style called 'point de Hongrie' and stone (in the dining room and kitchen) with persian rugs.
It is possible to sleep five people in this luxury suite : two in the original 19th century romantic pink and gold queen-size bed, two on the sofa-bed in the end bedroom, which also has a private entrance and one on the empire style sofa/bed which is in the living room. There is plenty of closet space in both the living room and the two bedrooms.
Even though you are in a setting from another time in history, you will find all the regular mod cons that you would expect: two flat-screen televisions with cable connection (one in the living room and the other in the end bedroom), wireless high-speed internet connection, and two telephones for local and international calls free to many countries landlines around the world (see list in the reservation procedure section of the website). The kitchen has a small grill, toaster, coffee percolator, vitro-ceramic hub and refrigerator.
